About

I am essentially an unmotivated artist without dreams of fame or financial gain. My art is simply an expression of individualism. That is not to say that I don’t love having them out of storage and on someone’s wall.

The making of art for me is about feeling the relaxed mood altering exhilaration of discovery and creativity with nothing to lose. It nourishes me and contributes greatly to my having a sense of balance in life. I move from painting to writing songs, surfing and gardening without the pressure of feeling drivin.

My paintings normally start with a photograph that I have either taken or borrowed from an old family album. As I express myself in the making of the work, a story related to the image will emerge. The stories often times reflect the beauty of our mundane common experiences. I encapsulate those moments.
